The weekend of February 7-8 there is an event in Hudson called the Hot Air Affair (I think). Sunday morning I was looking out the upstairs patio door and happened to see a hot air balloon coming over the top of our trees and it looked as if it were landing in our development. The kids and I went downstairs to see it better and got to watch it land. When we got back up stairs there were tons of hot air balloons coming our way. We opened the patio door and waved at one of them and they asked if they could land in our front yard. The kids were so excited, it was quite cold that morning so we didn’t go outside to see them closer. We had about 4 land in the culdesac.
This picture was taken from our living room.

This is the culdesac.

Serena loves to play dress up, course she doesn’t keep the dresses on for too long. She is usually all decked out, jewelry, shoes and dress.

Well, my boy is now 5. Here are some pics from the party Saturday. He had so much fun and loved all his gifts. The cake turned out great, my 4 1/2 hours of work paid off though Kyler did wonder where R2D2’s rockets were. I told him mommy’s version doesn’t have rockets.

It’s been a while since I have had a new post, so here goes. Such a busy week this week getting ready for the boy’s 5th birthday. I am pretty prepared for it and am taking Friday off so I can do the cake which I am not quite as nervous about this year since I have made it before, but still hope it turns out. I will be starting the stew at about midnight Friday, hoping it will be perfect about noon. Kyler is pretty excited though we keep teasing him that he is having a princess party.
This morning he was in quite the mood and informed me “Mom, you’re mean.” He was so tired and it just wasn’t working in our favor. Just love those mornings!
Last night we were playing Wii and Serena was climbing on the coffee table and knocking stuff to the floor, a favorite pass-time of hers, anyways Kenton had a glass of juice on the table and she was getting close to knocking it off. I asked her to be careful not to spill the glass and to get down, she didn’t listen and continued to move around on the table. I then took her off it and she walked over to me and said “You mean”. Think brother has said it one too many times?

The kids had so much fun trick-or-treating. We went to Steph and Mike’s so the kids could go out with Kaleb and Lauren. Kyler was so into it this year. Serena didn’t say much, but wanted to go into every house we went to. Not the safest trick-or-treating philosophy! Kyler was Obi Wan and I made his costume, Serena was Princess Leia but I opted not to make hers.
